the ontology
…
the shape of it
the words this uses
the vocabulary the declaration itself is written in — what counts as a thing, an attribute, a fact.
the class hierarchy
the things
every kind of node on the wall. blue marks the attribute that identifies one — the field two rows have to agree on to be the same thing.
the facts
every kind of link. a fact runs from one class to another and may carry attributes of its own; a few split into subfacts when one of those attributes decides the reading.
the closed lists
enumerations: fields where anything outside the list is a bug. the build fails if a value appears that is not here, and also if a value here never appears — a declaration frozen while the data moved is the harder half to catch.
what this maps onto
what's wrong with it
known problems, written down rather than quietly carried. the build checks the shape, not the wisdom of the shape.
